El Hijo del Perro Aguayo Tragically Passes Away

In a very tragic incident,  Perro Aguayo Jr., a Mexican wrestler and promoter, died as a result of injuries in a match in Friday night in Tijuana, Mexico. He was 35.

Aguayo went limp on the ropes after being kicked by Rey Mysterio, a former WWE Superstar making his return to Mexican wrestling. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to reports.

It was Mysterio's first match in Mexico's Asistencia Asesoría y Administración LLC, or AAA, since 1997.

For those who want to see how it happened, it starts around th 6:20 mark of the video.

EDITOR'S NOTE: In no way was this post meant to bring disrespect to the life of Pedro Ramírez, also known to wrestling fans as El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, nor to place blame on Rey Mysterio or on the lucha libre promotion. Sadly, professional wrestling is a very rough and physical sport, and we at WrestleRap fully understand the way administrators of the lucha libre promotion handled the sudden and tragic situation. We also send our regards to all the family and friends of this great wrestler and may his name be remembered forever amongst his peers and his character be remembered in the annals of Mexican lucha libre.
